Carmen is a dynamic entrepreneur and business leader with a unique blend of experience in business and the arts. Proud of her Mexican heritage, she excels in building global connections. As the driving force behind Agua Santa, she introduces high-end alcohol to new markets, supporting Mexico’s local economy. Carmen oversees the production of Mezcal in Oaxaca and its distribution across Canada, expertly navigating Canadian liquor regulations.
Originally from Mexico City, Carmen has lived and worked in Sweden, the USA, France, and Canada, gaining deep insights into global markets and cross-cultural strategies. At MXO Trade, she gained strategic leadership experience, identifying new business opportunities for DISTRICOMEX in Mexico.
Carmen moved to Canada for new challenges, earning an MBA in Finance and Strategy from McGill University. She quickly became a respected figure in the Canadian business landscape. Post-graduation, she worked with the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization, building trusted relationships with international stakeholders.
Outside of business, Carmen has a rich background in classical ballet, having danced professionally for over 20 years. She supports the National Ballet of Canada and Canada’s National Ballet School, advocating for integrating artistic development into corporate culture. In her personal life, Carmen enjoys time with her son, sharing good wine with her husband, and traveling to discover new friendships and connections.
